Description
What are BMW SP-Data files?
SP data are technical data packages used by BMW professional software for:
- identification of modules,
- reading codes,
- programming/flashing modules,
- software updates,
- support in retrofit operations or component replacement.
These files include precise data for each generation of BMW E-series modules and, in some cases, certain F-series modules.
What are they used for?
SP-Daten packages are required when working with:
- NCS Expert – read and write encodings, FA/VO modifications, optional activations.
- WinKFP – programming and updating ECU, EGS, FRM, JBE, etc. software.
- INPA / Ediabas – advanced diagnostics, access to internal data and testing.
- Retrofit tools – enable new options or adapt replaced modules.
Without SP-Data packages, many coding or programming operations do not work or communication errors occur.

This is NOT an installable program. It is a set of files required by existing BMW programs.
