Description
What is SVM and Component Protection?
SVM ("Software Version Management") is the VAG group's internal system that checks whether the computers installed in the vehicle have compliant software and hardware before delivery.
Component Protection (CP) is an anti-theft measure that „ties” critical components (control units, dashboards, infotainment) to the vehicle’s VIN. Because of this protection, if an unauthorized unit or one from a different VIN is installed, security errors, error codes, or the component simply cannot be activated. Ross-Tech Forums+2125 Coding+2
