What does ISN reset mean on a 6HP 8HP BMW gearbox?
The ZF 6HP and ZF 8HP gearboxes communicate with the ECU through a security code called ISN.
If you have installed a second-hand or reconditioned gearbox, the ISN does not match that of the engine, and the transmission goes into protection.
Common symptoms
